    Question 2005 ZX225 W/ 2005 Yamaha HDPI Setup

I just purchased a new to me Skeeter, and am needing some set up help. The Yamaha manual says 5500 RPM @ WOT for that year. My specs are below.

    Prop to Pad: 3-1/4”
    Prop: 25” T1
    RPM: 6000-6100
    Speed: 60.9 mph gps
Jack Plate: 12” Slidemaster w/a wedge between it and the motor
    Load: light tournament load

I have a feeling I need to up the prop to a 27 T1/T2 and then reset the jack plate, but I have never had to mess with a jack plate before, and wanted some input from others that have done this before.

sounds like your prop may need to be reworked. you should be turning 5800-5900 rpms and by yourself should be running around 69-71 mph. I run a 25 T1 on my 225 HPDI and with a fishing partner tournament load around 64-65.
    Try lowering your PTP also.

Wouldn't I want to get the RPM's to the 5400-5500 per the manual?

Speed at 60.9 and 6000 rpms you are blowing a lot of water it sounds like. Make sure your prop doesn’t have slip and like I said
you may need to get your prop worked. Your rpms may come down once prop is in good shape

What setting is your jack plate on and what bolt hole on your motor are you on?

i have your exact setup and with my ptp at 1-3/4 to 2" i get 64mph at 5800 rpms. that motor is a 6000 rpm motor, so not sure why it tells you that. First i've ever heard that.
I put a 26 pitch on it and the holeshot was horrible and got 63mph at 5300.

I do have a extra battery for the 36v TM system and 1 power pole for added weight.

Sounds like you need to raise your motor. Just raise it a half inch each time you go and see what happens.

Cup to the prop will help too.
