    3 year maintenance requirement?

I purchased a new Evinrude Etec in April of 2017 and received the 10 year extended warranty promotion.

I have heard that I need to do the 3 year maintenance to keep that extended coverage.

I tried contacting Evinrude and didn't get a straight answer. My question is does the 3 year service need to be done before 3 years from date or purchase or if its a April or May of 2020 will that be ok?

    Thanks

IF you have not accumulated 300 hours by the 3 year mark from the day of delivery, then the service is required to keep the extended coverage in force. Yes, it can be done earlier.

Make sure you keep the work order and any receipts as you may need proof of service in some situations. The factory does not keep records of service, only the dealer does. Be sure to insist on a copy of the engine report for your records.
