It's strange how people are different. I developed pf a couple years ago. I wear insoles in my all my other shoes, but never have pain with Crocs.
Crocs are deadly though. A couple of days ago, walking in the yard and something flips into my shoe, just as I stop to get it out, a bee lets me have it. Haven't been stung by a bee in years, but da@% that hurt.

Even brand new ones are like walking on a slipping slide when they are wet.
Crocs rank right up there with the man bun.
Crocs didn't kill me. But, I did slip and hit my tail bone hard enough to rupture one of my disc. Like someone said earlier. Crocs, water and finished concrete are a reciepe for injury.

to do the right thing!
I wore them on and off for many years. Then, I was recovering my kayak in some Texas Gumbo mud. My feet and the Crocs sunk to ankle deep. The crocs are STILL deep down in that crap.
Funny how plantar fasciitis comes on. I tried a pair of gym shoes for Golf...that I previously used and loved. That afternoon the Plantar Fascitis started. It took weeks to calm down. The Podiatrist said "Do Not Wear Crocs" when I went to see him. Heck, Crocs didn't cause the problem, but I now rarely wear those slippery things.
Wearing crocs is the equivalent of giving up on life......and they"re gay......

I have always thought them to be hideous and still do but for having something near the back door to run out into the garage and just for garage use in general they are great! After using romeos for years never again! Romeos are rock hard.
For all around foot comfort I have found nothing to beat any shoe made by Hoka One One..........
