    Motormate??/

I'm having problems keeping the end cups on my Motormate.(Mercury) This weekend for the 4th time one of the cups fell off. I have glued them on with Gorilla Super Glue. First time it happened, I was launching before daylight and they both fell off when I raised my motor and I lost one in the dark. Company was happy to replace them at no charge. Still, I'm seeking a solution. Any suggestions?

How long have you had your Motormate? I have one of the older models. 2016-2017 black. I have never had an issue but heard it can happen sometimes. Glad they sent you new cups but they should of told you how to install them or what glue was recommended. Call and ask them. Hard to believe Gorilla glue did not work. Try a 2 part epoxy. Pretty sure that will work.

You might also try 3M weatherstrip adhesive.

Boat is a 2017 so the Motormate is same. Luckily I have an extra cup, just in case, hangin on the pegboard by the boat in garage. No complaints with company. They have been great.

The ID of the tube vs the OD of the cup insert should be an interference fit. These inserts are normally a bitch to remove. Clean out the tubes where the inserts fit and check the dimensions. If the dims are larger than the inserts OD contact MotorMate for a replacement.

I had the same problem and a bit of shoe goo solved the problem.

I used JB Weld on mine after having epoxy fail.

You need to have the ability to remove the plastic cups as they become damaged.
