Question 2001 150 Optimax Injectors Dont Open?

    2001 150 Opti OT274461

Engine sat for two years and cranks but injector don’t open. They only have 1/2v going to them.

Crank position sensor has no continuity when engine is cranked. Is that a valid test of a CPS?

A little gas dripped in the intake and she fires right off.

Never put gas in the intake of your Optimax.

Crank position sensor is tested under BENCH conditions (when checking resistance). RESISTANCE (not continuity).

What are the AIR and FUEL pressures while cranking?

Should have close to battery volts on the power side of the injectors, fix this first
Not a valid CPS test. OHM test or scope test inductive waveform
If you have spark and it fired with gas added to intake, the CPS is working. Non op CPS will not provide a signal to PCM to trigger coils or injector drivers
Does the fuel pump run for a couple of seconds when the key is turned on?
Check 20 amp fuses and master relay for starters

To help clarify Leon's comment on the Injector Power- the POWER side of the injectors should have 12V+ Power ONLY.

If testing between the two pins in the connector, the PCM is providing a grounding PULSEWIDTH (Modulated Signal). Most meters are not equipped to test this signal (and it is very unlikely that you have a problem with the electrical circuit, as an OPEN or SHORT anywhere in the system will set a FAULT).

Much more likely you are fighting congealed fuel in the system- you'll likely need to go through the entire system, end-to-end.

Thanks Don, I definitely need to get back into that VST tank and replace the needle and seat. Then Ill look at the injectors.

Can I use two separate gauges to test the air and gas pressure at the same time?

Yes- as long as they are Liquid or Glycerin Dampened, and you can read them both at the same time (ie: Need to sit pretty close to each other when connected).
