    2003 XR6

    The mercury owners manual says it holds 22oz of gear oil, doesn’t seem like that much drained, it that correct?

    its probably about right, i ust did mine the other day and it was definity less than a quart. Just fill it till it comes out the vent hole and your good.

    Fill it TO the vent hole. If fluid is coming from the vent, let it come out until the level is AT the bottom of the vent hole.

    "Spewing out" is OVER-FULL.
