Doing a water pump replacement and the old and new base gaskets are different.
Is it OK to use the new gasket from the Impeller Replacement Kit (47-8M0100527) ?

The function of the gasket is to keep water within the impeller housing. The gasket design will serve the same purpose. Good to go.
i called merc because mine had your new gasket and i got a new one and it was like your old one they told me the lower pic one was off a 60 horse 4stroke i believe
