    Dirt cheap 14 exsence c3000m

    Hi again... am seeing 2014 model exsence spinning reels retailing for <$120; does anyone know why? I thought exsences were supposed to be one step shy of the Stella... any ideas welcome. Thanks!

    They were cheaper reels back then. They retail listed at 17,900JPY which is around $165. I would pass. Stradic FKs are selling around the price now and is probably a better reel.

    In Japan they often offer several levels of the same named reel. Shimano offers their "BB" lines that are much cheaper in price.
    Right now you can pick up a new BB Exsence for $132 while the standard Exsence is about $440. The Exsence CI4+ is about $300.
    They just offer a much wider selection in Japan and that makes it confusing if you don't follow the JDM releases.
