My ultrex is connected to my helix 10 g2n mega si unit on the bow. My question for you guys is, do you guys shut down your depthfinder whenever you stow your trolling motor to move to a different spot, or is putting the unit in standby or shutting the sonar function off good enough so you don’t burn up the transducer that’s built in to the trolling motor by having it pinging while out of the water?
