What’s the difference between the two?
Good question I wish someone could chime in with some real world experience. I’m wondering if it’s worth the extra cost.
Biggest difference is the ability to get a sportsmaster gear case on the R.
Whats the boat? One clear difference is you can get the R with a sportsmaster.
Limiter is the same.
They say the R has a Performance tuned long runner intake manifold with high durometer upper motor mounts and solid lower motor mounts.
I think the ProXS allows for more Mid options (like tiller)

I’m still debating between a couple new boats. I’m looking at the difference between the two on a Falcon 205 or 215 since both are limited to a 250. I’m wondering if it’s worth the extra money for the 250R? Also, wondering what the reel difference in performance would be?
I'm not sure in your application your going to notice a difference. I bet the pool of people who have run a ProXS on the same boat as an R is small. I would get the motor you feel fits your budget best and not look back. You can get Poles, better depth finders, or an upgraded troller for the difference all things that will be more of an impact to your game than R. To me its a sportsmaster decision only. If you need that case you get an R, if not a ProXS.

It will probably be slower on that type of boat than the pro xs will be....that gearcase only shines when it's surfacing.
