I have a big ass truck... so I disconnected my surge brakes ...

... then I read the Arizona law.

So began my education in brake installation.

Larry, I can take some pics if you want, but when I completely refurbed my 2001 EZ loader, I just went and bought 8' sticks of HD brake lines, then used a brake line flaring tool and made my own. Been good to go for 4 years now.

That’s okay. Plan on getting the tools and doing it later this week. Need to pull the spent hub and see if the bearings are good. Worse case is the spindle took a hit.

Thanks! Aware of redneck. There’s other brake parts closer to me. That one on division and national still open? Correction- National and Trafficway. Springfield brakes, closed I believe. Trailer supply in Nixa off 160.

    Update on the tear down.
This is what was left of the caliper.
    [IMG][/IMG]
This is what’s left of the rotor or should I say the hub assembly.

    [IMG][/IMG]
    [IMG][/IMG]
The flange that needs some love.
    [IMG][/IMG]
    The spindle appears fine.
    [IMG][/IMG]
    The sheared brake line.
    [IMG][/IMG]
    [IMG][/IMG]
And the 20 cent part that saved it all. Note the section of it missing.
It would appear the culprit had been the spindle nut had backed off enough to allow the wheel to wobble slightly. Probably when I had a blowout on I-44 last year. But the wheel was tight when I mounted all 4 new tires on them, no play so IDK.
Next. Parts ordering. I’ll post pics of the install.

Shouldn’t be too bad to repair. Flange doesn’t look too bad from the pick. Is it going to require a weld.

Flange doesn’t appear to need any welding just a little bit of 6lb love.

Better than crawling under the trailblazer today and changing out the A and B shift solenoids.
