    Cavitation Ring

I know this has probably been asked but I couldn't find any results when searching. I have an Etec 200 and just got a Trophy plus prop but I'm looking for a Cavitation ring for. I see Quicksilver has prop seal part# 878421, I know it fits the prop and works with Merc lower units but will it work fine with my Etec as well? I have also heard that an Etec will melt the ring, is this true?

Contact Mark on the boards here, he makes one out of aluminum and he'll know what to do for the etec.

I had someone let me borrow a 23 Renegade prop for a test run. It also requires a cavitation ring. They did not have one so I bought a plastic one and it melted on trip #1...one of the reason E-TECH's burn so clean and have the lowest emission rates is because they run a temperature that is hotter than all other outboards. Get the aluminium one that Mark Croxton has. Just tell him what motor and prop you have and he will know what you need.
