    Book value on outboard motor

I am looking at a 1998 johnson fastrike 150. It has good compression all around and is a carbed engine. Where can I find the book value on this motor? He is asking 3600 but I think that may be a little high. It may be right on, I dont know. I was just wondering if there is a blue book online that you can look at.
    Thanks

You can go to NADA site under boats and get an idea on the price range. Bad thing about them is they only give you low and average retail, no high price.

Don't go by what a Bank will tell you the motor is worth, their book is not what marine dealers use. Most motors in good shape will sell for more than any book value. You must consider why this motor is for sale.

If it's a recently rebuilt motor done by a very reputable mechanic that is offering a warranty, then I would consider the $3600 to be a decent price. If not, you probably need to be in around the $1800 - $2000 mark. JMHO.
