So we have lowrance, Garmin, Rhodan all coming in this year to fight for a spot in the TM market. Motorguide seems like it's falling apart fast and minnkota is the top dog as of now. But why all these new TM manufacturers? Did a bunch of patents expire or something?

This one seems more like a Terrova than Ultrex.

Rhodan has been around for quite some time. Unless something has changed, they've got competition for the Terrova and XI5 but nothing that most bass anglers would be interested in.

I think these have been out for a bit. I thought they were more expensive than the Ultrex

It looks a lot like the terrova I used to have, different release mechanism, but real similar on the rest.

Do not like that type of base deployment. For some boats that puts too much bouncing weight on too small of a footprint in the front nose of the bow. Fortrex/Ultrex style deployment helps anchor and spread the flex across a larger longer footprint.

To me, it looks a lot like the other "knock-off" trolling motor, the Haswing Cayman.

Rhodan has been around for a long time and has a very loyal saltwater following. They make incredibly long shafts, up to 84", that people put on offshore boats. I've been on a few boats with them and the spot lock feature is flawless. By all accounts they have excellent customer service as well.

Yeah, looks a lot like a Terrova (Terranova?). Prop looks like a MotorGuide 3 blade.

The Rhodan is the best for large center consoles and offshore fishing. They however don’t like playing in shallow water and bumping logs or bottom etc.

Has to have foot control, wireless may ok for a few things, but not bass fishing on a tree or stump infested lake. Or docks!
