    618 Pro Trolling Motor

Hey guys I have been thinking about upgrading to a Ultrex. I have a 618 with a 175 Pro XS. I currently have a 80 pound Fortrex, There is plenty of room for another battery if I decided to go with a 36vt Ultrex but I would have to upgrade my charger as well. I guess my question is would I lose much performance if I went to the 36vt? and has anyone ran a 24vt Ultrex?

I ran a 24v system on my last 19ft boat. It was plenty for my liking. I had to crank it all the way up when Lake Erie would get whipping, but other than that no issues.

If your current 24v system is serving you well, I'd stick with that. Lost of extra costs associated with adding a 3rd battery.

I went from a 24 volt Fortrex to a 36 volt Fortrex in my 618 and didn’t notice any performance issues with the extra weight. Phoenix boats tend to run better with the weight in the back so the extra battery didn’t hurt me. As far as the battery charger just get a small one bank charger for the starting battery. I wouldn’t go back to my old Fortrex 80 after using my 112.

Love mine, I’ve never owned anything bigger but I often fish out of bigger boats. I don’t regret buying it
