    Algae on albermarle sound

    Friend of mine was telling me about a huge algae bloom in the albermarle and surrounding rivers. Anyone know any areas this is happening ?

    was told of a bloom on the perquimans, a couple of weeks ago

    I believe it came from the drought...
    was down there last Friday and Saturday and saw zero signs of it, however we have had tons of rain since it was first identified

    I hear there is a lot of it on lower Chowan.

    Was there today on the lower chowan. I saw some patches of it where the wind was pushing it around, not terrible though.

    Been fishing the Perquimans river for over 30years and have never seen it as bad as it was this year. I suppose the recentrain has mitigated it. My club fished a tournament there at the height of thebloom and that stuff was nasty. I personally did not catch a fish in that greenwater. Had to fish areas where there was minimal algae to catch fish.
