Since my insurance is up for renewal in less than 30 days I've been getting quotes for my '16 ZX225 Skeeter that is fully paid off now.
    State Farm - $1235
    Geico / US Boat - $887
    Charter Lakes - $739
    Progressive - $894

All of these are per year polices paid in full up front. Same coverage.

WOW! That seems expensive to me...I have a 05 TR-21X Triton and I have been with Progressive since I bought the boat. I am currently paying $480.00 a year with a disappearing deductible which has long ago disappeared so I have no deductibles anymore. I also have a 100% replacement in case of total lose. Of course that is based on 2005 prices so I couldn't buy a new boat with the replacement amount at today's prices but I could buy a used one of similar value as to what I have. I also have $2500.00 in misc equipment coverage and 300/100K liability.

I'm in Florida and I can't imagine insurance prices being any better than in Texas, but I guess I'm wrong on that one! Not sure if the boat being paid for is a factor or not since I paid cash for mine back in 05 when I bought it. I sure couldnt do that today with the prices boats are now!

Texas has seen some insane increases in recent years. All boats categorized together and storms have destroyed a lot of boats.

I wish we could carry liability only like a vehicle. St Farm has told me no.
