    Why zip ties?

Why are so many lines zip tied? I know some are just vacuum lines but even my fuel hose under the cowl is zip tied. This is a older motor but even my 08 opti had zip tied lines. Why cant they just use clamps?

Because zip ties are cheaper and provide 100% seal.....worm drive clamps can leak vacuum.

In addition to forming a complete seal, these Radius-Head Tie Wraps are lighter and cause less vibration, as compared to many stainless clamps.

ANY Mercury Dealer should have Part# 816311T in stock. No reason you can't find them locally- of course, Rhonda keeps them too (see her post, pinned at the top of the Forum).
