New Terrova With US2 Won’t Shake Hands With My Gen1 Helix 7

A few days ago I had a new Minn Kota Terrova with US2 professionally installed on my Tracker Pro 170 with Gen 1 Helix 7 up front. The gentleman did a very clean job installing the Terrova, but now I have no sonar. I knew I wouldn’t have DI but I was expecting to have traditional (2D?) sonar. My son and I did the required direction sensor cal and offset with no problems. We were very surprised to have no sonar. The gentleman that installed the Terrova is now gone on vacation for a couple of weeks, and we would sure like to get our sonar working. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The sonar cable terminates with a metal barrel 4 prong connection. You must have an adapter to go from this connection to the sonar. Did he install the adapter? The US2 is designed to communicate with the Humminbird as well as Lowrance products.

I know on lowrance you have to select generic transducer for the sonar to work. not sure if birds work this way?

Is this value set in the Sonar menu in the Helix? I need to check that.

If it's Helix 7 DI, it's officially not compatible, having the same problem with G1 Helix5 DI
Had to set the depth to manual and 50' to get it working, using auto range is not working.

That's the problem DI, that's why is not on the compatibility list like G1 Helix5 DI GPS I'm using.

Set it from auto to manual and no more then 50', mine works that way
Wayne in the HB forum explained to me that our DI units uses 455 kHz for the depth readout. When you select 200 kHz, that is just what frequency to display for 2D sonar.
I have contacted HB if it would be possible to flash sonar/GPS only unit software on the sonar/DI/GPS unit but I doubt that :(
