Bow flush mount vs. gimble/ram mounted: which is better

My boat has an older Lowrance HDS5 flushmounted into the bow panel. I am replacing this graph with an EchoMap+ 73sv. Would it be better to install the new unit flush mounted or with the cradle/gimbal mount? What about using/needing a ram or deck-it mount?

Are there any advantages or disadvantages that would be gained with each type of install?

    Thank you for your help.

Flush mount you are stuck with the way it is....as for cradle you can tilt it as needed....on a ram or something similar you have multiple angles to adjust. I vote for something other than flush mount.

All of my units were flush mounted until I started using my installer. He refuses to flush mount because it limits the viewing angle. I almost took that boat somewhere else but gave in and I'm glad I did. No more flush mounts for me!!
