Mike...are you using a battle born for a cranker?

But isn't that based on voltage since those are made for non-Lithium batteries (regardless of the lithium profile on the charger)?

For how long have you had this setup? I'm interested in a 100Ah for a cranker as well, either the Battle Born or Ionic, and either has a pulse discharge amp rating much less than what my old Yamaha EFI or your G2 calls for. But I see many people with 100Ah lithium batteries used as a starting battery and no issues, but not much detail with regard for how long they have had that setup. Thx.

If you are needing a start battery then go for the Relion RB100HP. It has a peak discharge rate of 800A for starting applications. Don't think battle born has anything other than trolling motor batteries

I’ve been using the Relion for a while. No complaints at all.

Would mind sharing the length on your AL angles that you used for your tray. How long and thick? What screws did you use? How did you cut it? Where did you purchase it?

    Thanks.

Thank you. Much appreciated. Looks like a trip to Home Depot. I hope they can cut it for me. Drilling the holes should be easy.

Angle aluminum is easy to cut with a hacksaw, jigsaw, or circular saw with the proper blade. But I’ve done quite a bit of metal fabrication for boats in my garage, using only a hacksaw. May not be perfect cuts, but who sees them once installed?

I run four 100ah Relions. I’m charging with a MK charger now. Kept having problems with my DualPro. Like the batteries.

Interesting...didn’t think the battleborns were suitable for cranking.

    200A for 30sec spec.

Now I've never metered it but don't think the draw is that high for that long of a period. Especially since it starts in 1sec or so.
And that battery came over from my 519VX with a 200HO Evinrude, which had no problems as well as with the new G2

I have battleborn lithiums, which is the spec I mentioned..... https://battlebornbatteries.com/

Or you could opt for the Iconic lithiums which I linked a BBC thread in the beginning here.

There's other manufacturers as well....some are board sponsors too.

I have 3 100ah Relions for my thruster and a 100ah hp for my G2....my boat is a 520L and my charger is a mk460 on agm setting. I can’t kill the thruster in a day but I can in less than 2 so I m glad I went with 100s... Apparently Relions and some other batteries have certifications that other batteries may not have...so do your homework....

Not sure bout long term cost savings but the performance is great...especially love no drop off in thruster speed all day
