Also, the last picture you posted shows your linkage or cable is not allowing full throttle.

I’m a rare breed. 750 hours of rode extremely hard and put away wet in big water. I’ve broken almost everything there is to break except my bobs hydraulic plate and the mercury itself. There are wear spots like that all over the pieces of the motor that can touch during normal operation for example the areas around the trim motor where the outboard can shake side to side and rub on those brackets.

That photo is not my linkage it was posted by someone else. My linkage should be fine. On my hot foot I can put it at about 90% and run full speed. Then put the pedal to the metal 100% and gain no speed so I’m pretty sure it’s set correctly.

How do you get that black cover off. I pulled the one above the fly wheel but I can’t get that other one off easily and I don’t want to break it. I looked at the linkage on the side of the motor and it appears to be going through the full range of motion. My friend had his messed up and his boat went 62mph rather than 70. I’m not having that bad of performance issues. It’s extremely minor

Sorry, I didn't notice those pics were of someone else's engine.

That definitely looks better than mine....it was a good 1/4" away from the stop at full throttle where it should be about 1/16!

Address the throttle linkage problem, REPLACE the STRIKER PLATES, retorque steering, jackplate, and engine fasteners (this should be done AT LEAST ANNUALLY). You will find SOME of your lost performance in this area (other info provided above will also affect speed/performance).

Note: ANY (even very slight tipping/scratching) damage on a FURY prop can drastically affect performance. Have seen 5-7 MPH loss on a prop that looked like it barely touched sand once.
