Good / Bad news / prop question

20190613_200948.jpgGood- So last week I brought home a "new to me" 2012 721 with a Mercury 250 Pro XS. I've been boatless since 2013 and my last boat was also a 721. Needless to say, I'm thrilled to be back on the water!!! My 14 yr old is also ecstatic!

Bad- I made a rookie mistake loading the boat and managed to grind up the prop. It is a Tempest 27 and apparently those aren't made any longer and have been replaced by the Tempest Plus. I was planning on getting another prop anyway, but does the Tempest Plus run similar to the old Tempest? Should I run the same pitch? Or should I go to a Fury? Please help?

    Thanks!

P.S. that is my son in the picture. I only wish I was that young again. lol

Send the prop to Mark Croxton here on the BBC boards. He can take one that is ground up pretty good and make it look/run better than new for way less than a new one costs. Check out the "props" board here on BBC.

Spoke to Don Weed from European Marine earlier and he recommended a 26 Tempest Plus. I'm going to send the old prop to Mark to get worked and hopefully have a summer and not summer prop. I had a 26 Fury on my old 721 as a summer prop, and didn't like how little lift it gave the front end. Thanks!!!

I have a 2012 721 with 250 Merc and the 25 Fury performs the best overall for me. 75 fully loaded with 2 10' talons.

Thanks! Absolutely love being on the water again, and in exactly the boat I wanted.

The prop thing sucks, but I screwed up and life will go on!

Just ordered a new Tempest Plus 26p from Rothwell Marine in Arkansas. Wow! Their pricing, which includes shipping, cannot be beat!!!
