    Normal Amp Draw on battery

Had a 1 year old 750 ah battery keep going low voltage on my Ranger after 6 hours. Would barely start motor and shut electronics off. Battery shop says the battery is good after charging on my onboard charger.

I put an Amp Meter inline with all 3 finders and livewell pumps running. Draw was 25 amps w/o pumps and 38 amps with pumps running with water in the livewell. I think I measured it right.

    Is that a normal draw.

That battery is not the right battery for that service. You need to go to a group 31 battery deep cycle cranking.. You will not have that issue again. the amp draw is about right though.

A 750AH battery is going to weigh somewhere in the neighborhood of 500lbs and be about 3’ x 5’, so I suspect you have a different battery. Post the specific model.

It would be uncommon to have an inline meter that could measure more than 10A. A clamp on meter would commonly be able to measure that range. Which meter did you use?

Mmmmm.... not sure what kind of electronics you're using that pulls 25 amps - maybe something from NORAD. 13 amp draw for a couple of aerator pumps? Fuses on my 9" Carbons are 3 amp. They max draw at around 2.3amps. 2 - 1000 gph bilge pumps + electronic bilge sensor are fused at 10 amps. Sum'tins wrong.

I'm guessing you have a 750cca battery, which is going to be weak for a cranking battery. Also, not sure you read the amp draw correct. You shouldn't have a 38A draw with just pumps and electronics.

Yes 750 CCA. Going to get a clamp on meter from the local auto store. You can use it if you leave a deposit. Will see what each device is drawing.
