1998 201pe, gas tank question

How do I access the gas tank to change send unit and how big gallon wise is tank, also how long of a arm should the sending unit have? Thanx

If it helps, this is the sending unit which I used to replace the one in my '94 201 Pro XL. I believe from what I have seen, the tanks on the 201 series were the same size and shape even though at some point they switched from 2 L shaped tanks to just one large L shaped tank. I also believe the capacity stayed the same as well, with 2 x 24 gallon tanks in mine then eventually 1 x 48 gallon tank when the switched to the single tank set up. The tank is under and behind the seats and is accessed by removing the panel that that the seats mount to.

I have a 1997 201 pro elete .
I also thought my sending unit was faulty until I removed it and tested it manually.
The bottom of tank is "L" shaped and holds way more fuel which translates to huge inaccuracy in fuel reading.

The tanks are 26 gals each.
