80 would work. 105 36v would be better. I have a 36v on mine. Would not trade it.
Depends on where and how he fishes and if he has room for three batteries for the 36V.
Plenty of people fish those boats with 70 or 80lb motors. On a river, you might want more. Some people would probably put 200lb thrust motors on them if they were available!
If you have integrity, nothing else matters. If you don't have integrity,
nothing else matters.
Thanks
I am running 70#. Would prolly go to 80# if replacing.
I have a 2006 SP210 with a verado 250 when I bought it had an underpowered MG 80lb 24V . I replaced with a MK fortrex 112 36v much better option for a big heavy boat like the SP boats. There a ton of room in back all the batteries plus you can go all weekend with worrying about recharging.
Room is not an issue. The 210 has more than enough space for 3 batteries and a cranking battery. Same thing as punch said. You can fish longer and have more power. I don't fish rivers a lot, but it's windy in Oklahoma, so that 36v is put to good use a lot. Plus fishing docks the 36v can get me around them or across the cove a lot faster. My friend has a 74lb 24v, and it's fine, but not in the same league as far as moving a boat around That's 21ft.
I'm curious about"all the room" for 4 batteries in that boat. I have a 02 SP210 DC . I don't see the space .
Just a guy tryin\' to get to the next level...at everything I try.
Mine has 3 side by side right in front of the engine. And one on the passenger side.
Got any tips for adding that extra battery? Pics would be helpful too. Thanks in advance.

Thank you. Where do you have your charger positioned?

I have a Fortrex 112 lb. 36V on my 2000 210 SP DC. I have (4) 27 series batteries positioned in the center section rear storage compartment. The battery charger is in the port rear compartment and the remote oil tank is in the starboard rear compartment, and there is still some room.

I have a 74 minn Kota and it does ok. I agree if fishing current a 36 volt would prolly be needed.
