Do they make a joist hanger where I could hang 2x6 or 2x8 joists for my shed loft like this, mounting to the top plate and studs. Obviously this is a 2x4 in the picture but just for reference.

nevermind lol!
Bear with me. Pain in the azz trying to use another site to post images, then when you go back to paste your image whatever you wrote disappears and you have to start all over
Reason being I built my shed walls 87" to the top plate. If I put 2x6 joists on top of the top plate that puts my loft floor damn near 8'... Way to high. Now I'm trying to think about how I'm gonna bring it down some.
There’s all kinds of joist hangers out there, I’m sure you can visit your local Lowe’s and get something that will work fine.
See ya
You talking about these?

2x6 hangers are less $, of course, but you can sort that out.

Don't bother me, I'm screwing for virginity.
I killed a 12-pack just to watch it die.
Also have this style to use.

They make a top flange hanger that nails to the top of your plate not the face.
The face mount hangers will not work. Looks like the ones grout-scout and bigmess posted would work. Wonder which would be stronger?

The face mount will work.
They make a joist hanger for almost anything.
Nail a 2x6 around the perimeter flush with top plate then install hangers as needed.
Notch the 2x6 and nail it to the side of the stud and top plate . It will be off set from the stud but you wouldn't need a joist hanger. Keep it simple.
He can’t nail the whole hanger with the way he currently has his top plate. Now if he does a perimeter 2x6, the he would have all the meat he needed for the nails; but more money being spent that way.
Problem with notching the 2x6 is that he is gaining height again.
The style I posted earlier would be the hardest hanger to install and your studs would all have to be lined up; but they might also be the easiest/cheapest in the long run.
Nail a 2x under the joist at the proper location and let the joist rest on the 2x, works every time.
Make sure and crown your lumber, especially when using hangers.

Why can't you set it on top of the Wall?
Too high. Built my walls taller than I wanted because I really couldn't find a shorter single entry door like they put in the short walled sheds. As I've said before, I really have no business tackling this project. You live and learn or you're like me and you don't learn. The amount of my life I've wasted on this shed in unbelievable
Think I'm going to run 2x6 around the perimeter and attach joist hangers to that. That's the plan anyways
Maybe Cheryl will chime in because she did something similar in her she-shed before it burned down.
