These guys fish all over the country using public ramps.
They also camp in public campgrounds, eat in public restaurants, gas up the truck and boat at public gas stations, and drop by tackle shops if they need something.
Not sure what you find strange....they’re human, just like you.
I thought they were having one of those secret MLF events this week?
Praying for a Cure
(1) I don't think his sponsors would like him to keep that truck locked up in his garage out of the public's view. It's a rolling billboard. Heck, 1000 people on this site alone read this thread, not to mention all the people at the ramp that saw it that day as well.
(2) Theft - These fellas are on the road from CA - FL. Im sure they are fully insured and all the equipment is covered. Probably easier for them to replace something than the average Joe going thru his local insurance rep.
Just my 2 cents...
I am surprised there were not 30 wanna be pros following him watching with binoculars
A mistake on your part does not constitute a emergency on my part.
I have seen him in past at Siebold ramp near Buck Island.
Every person that sees that wrapped rig is an Impression for marketing. He is paid to be seen.
He was probably there to go sit on spots so the guys fishing tournament couldn't fish them......like people do to them from time to time.lol....
Guys loves being on the water...me too..
Semper Fi
I don't see anything strange either other than this post but then there are many on the BBC who hold Pro Bass Fishermen in such Grand Adulation they don't consider them as "Normal People" like the guy who was surprised that Edwin Evers owned a Pecan Orchard because he had trouble looking at the Pro's as normal people.
However I can't believe that he wasn't surrounded by his security team and a mere BBC Mortal was able to get that close to him will bet they were disguised as ramp people so they blended in and would have taken down any threat to Mr Lee in a matter of seconds.
I'm sure his security kept a vigil on his wrapped truck and trailer because his sponsors would require it.....I'm surprised they didn't shut down a massive section of the lake for him and his party to enjoy somebody must have dropped the ball on that one you'd think for someone of his stature they'd build him a private launch area.
I often wondered how people could keep their composure in the presence of greatness
you just gotta be
BTW, I used to live down the road from J Lee when he first bought his house in Grant, just a regular guy, and used to see Derick Remitz and Casey Martin just about daily, what you will find out is they are just like 99% of all your other fishing buddies
Putting a clown in the castle doesn't make him a king, it turns the castle into a circus
Think about that the next time and maybe not quiz him on what he is doing and why. Maybe a nod, wave and "good luck".I would rather just go unnoticed in the area where most would know me. I would want some time to just be me and not the 2017, 2018 BASS master champion
I don't know... That is kind of odd. I think if I were you I would try to get to the bottom of this. Maybe follow him around a bit, see where he shops, where he eats, where he goes to church, etc. Find out what he's REALLY up to because a pro angler at a public boat ramp on a weekend just doesn't make any sense. Unless of course the "Pro Angler" boat ramp was full.
I have seen Seth Fieder around MN quite a few times, that arrogant SOB had the audacity drive his wrapped boat/truck around while using public access. :Sarcasm:
man this thread went south fast over just using a public ramp
I just came here looking for pics of the lady friend
Jordan uses the ramp at 431 and waterfront quite a bit along with a handful of other pros, and believe it or not these guys are just as eat up with fishing as the rest of us, only difference it's also a job for them. I'm sure a lot of them when they are at home for the weekend just go fishing.
His wife was a good looking woman, he also had what I think was a grey lab with him. I can see the advertisement with sponsors all over his truck being a huge bonus to help create a moving billboard. This ramp was on Hwy 69, Jackson ramp in Brown Creek. I don't think fishing was his main objective being he had his wife, a friend of theirs and their dog. Plus it was closing in on 4 PM and the lake was chalk full of every type boat and the waves out there were as bad as I have seen in a long time.
I guess the MLF guys were hanging out everywhere this weekend since they were not in or heading out for a tournament, Gerald Swindall was at Eufala watching the Alabama Bass Trail tournament.
Next time i see an average joe with a dog and 2 people in the boat ill ask them what the heck they are doing so we can some what speculate what lee was doing.
