Since kids and grand kids are 500 and 2000 miles away, last night wife and went out for dinner of lobster, crab, and shrimp.

Today we had a great Brunch at the church. Chicken an over oak fire, hamburgers, hot dogs, some great salads and some killer crab dip. Now heading out to the deck to watch some critters through the bottom of a wine glass.

Smoked some bratwurst, made at a local meat locker. Apple chunks for flavor.

We ended up with ribeyes, pan seared scallops, salad, baked sweet taters, grilled corn on the cob.

I spent the day at the drag strip. Couple friends from Colorado came to race, one from Missouri, and one from CB. Always good to spend a day with old friends.
Home by 5:30, 12 people for dinner. Ribeyes, baked taters, veggies, salad, brownies & ice cream for dessert. Best part —- I didn’t have to cook or grill anything

The steaks were delicious!! Never had a steak so tender. Only quibble was mine wasn't charred enough for my taste. I like them cremated on the outside and begging for mercy on the inside. His plans of using the grill were scrubbed when a thunderstorm blew through. Instead, he was using a huge cast iron griddle with some butter and a sprig of rosemary. His problem was, even though he had his griddle hot on the burner it went cold as soon as he threw all eight steaks on at the same time. So he was fighting getting every steak browned without turning them into well done. When I used my cast iron griddle for steaks I put it in the oven at 500 for a 15 or 25 minutes to get that sucker loaded up with residual heat.

I went by Sam’s and splurged on a Kobe ribeye. Grilled it on the egg but boy I was nervous cooking that expensive piece of meat, didn’t want to overcook it! Turned out perfect and delicious!!

Late to the thread, but my wife really made her Dad and I a great meal. We had delmonico's, twice baked potatoes, fresh green beans and king crab legs. She got the king crab legs from Costco and they were fantastic. She found out when they get their shipment in went first thing in the morning. Best store bought crab legs I've ever had!
