I had a '97 Tahoe for 13 years and it had 289k miles when I sold it. The truck still looked very good, interior almost like new, but that 5.7 needed the head gasket replaced for the third time and the tie rod and ball joints replaced for the 4th time when I sold it. I calculated it was going to cost more than the value of the truck to repair it, so I chose to sell it instead. Looking back, I should have repaired it and kept driving it!! I still miss it.
