How long does it usually take when you install SD card into the slot and select update new software to complete the installation? I gave it 20 to 30 minutes before powering it off. I don’t remember it taking more than 5 minutes to install?

Depends on how much stuff is changed in a particular update. I have seen 30 minutes+ several times.

3.40 takes a while. longer than most on my units

I let it go for 1.5 hours and it did not complete installation.

My solix 15 gps si gn1 did that over a year ago. Possible 2nd or 3rd update loading screen was just sitting there not changing.
left it on all night with 12v supply to battery as I was due to fish following morning woke up and screen still the same,
with heart racing and a sweat on I had to turn it off. Turned it back on 5 mins later new software installed with no issues.

Kudos to this forum and its members, selfishly I wait for you guys to update and report back allowing a couple of weeks from release before I update mine. Looking forward to trying 3.4 as the last update gave me issues as I only fish waters below 10 feet..

Talked to Humminbird this morning about the software not loading. They want me to start over (erase SD card, download, extract, copy to SD and try to install. If that doesn’t work, ship it in for repair. My touch screen doesn’t work all the time and Bluetooth will constantly disconnect from my iPhone.
