    ECM interchangeable? 1995 and a 2001 Mercury 175hp

    I'm wondering if I can replace my 2001 Mercury 175 ECM with a 1995 ECM and it run and be okay. Found one in good shape cheap and my fuel driver is down in my 2001 ECM. I know cam get mine rebuilt and may do so in time when I have the extra money. But if this older one will get me going I'd like to buy it. Someone who knows please give me some input before I purchase it. Thanks casey

    what hp 1995 ecu, prob will start and run, wouldn't run hard or long , check v6 section for more info on yo mtr
