Way points not saving

I have two gen 1 Helix units one 10 on the dash and 9 on the bow . I have had them for 3 years now and no troubles . So this past weekend ledge fishing I could not get my units to show a newly marked way point . It would say way point saved but would not show up on the map screen . Also my units use to share way points when saved from either units it’s not doing that either. Is it possible I accidentally turned them off showing in my menu or do I need to have my units updated . I have not done any updates on either unit . I read a lot of bad thing about updateding theses new Helix units . Or is that more of user problem . Other than that issue they work great . Put 20.49 pounds in the boat plus a 6.70 in tournament last Sunday and could not of done it with out them .

Check your settings for waypoint defaults. New waypoints will have default settings specified there, and one of the settings may be visibility "off".
