Need a new prop or not??
I don't know if you all can help me because i have a Nauticstar 227xts with a 250 sho 25 inch LU on a hydrolic jack plate and not a bass boat. But i notice that when i am cruising the prop seems to lose bite. It is a power tech off shore series 15 inch diameter 21 pitch. I wonder if i get a true yamaha of shore prop it will keep the bite in the water. I have tried all heights on the hydrolic JP and it still loses bite every so often. Is this a prop problem or something else?
Thanks

You might just need your prop worked. Cup, rake, pitch checked and fixed.

Mike it's a brand new prop. Not even a year old and came with the boat. I was looking at my transducer placement and its on there with the bottom just below the bottom of the boat on the lower step. Right in line with the right side of the prop. It makes a small rooster tail when i and on plane. Do you think this is interfering with the " GOOD WATER " the prop is trying to bite? Like i said above it blows out at random losing the bite then gripping again. If that's not the problem i will have it checked. Thanks

It sure could be disrupting the clean water to the prop....

Ok thanks a lot Mike. I might try to move the ducer up first to see if it helps. Thanks again
