North East Texas report / Cooperman update

While Cooperman is here I might as well give you guys an update on the lakes we are fishing here in NE Texas.

Today we hit Lake Holbrook for a few hours before the sun came up. Coop caught fish on spinner baits, Ribbit frogs, a T-rigged white lizard, a whopper plopper. My best bait was a hollow bodies frog, and a spinner bait. The air temp at the ramp made me dig in every compartment to find some light jackets. The wind was just about calm. The water was 77 to 78 and there was a thick layer of fog hanging over the water. It was a clear sky morning. The water was a solid tea color, but somewhat clear.

First couple casts Coop has a 4 pounder blow up on a Whopper Plopper. Within minutes he had another. And it continued through the daylight hours. We caught about 20 in all. Quite a few were dinks, and some 1 lbrs.

The best 5 fish of the day may have come in at 16 to 17 lbs.
