    Fathers day smoke out

Gonna put something on the RecTec for Fathers day and have the family over, probably a brisket since it seems to go over well. Anyone else got fathers day plans? Any other suggestions for sides I can toss on there?

Grilled avocados are good. Oil,seasoning, face down,350.
Or throw some taters in with the brisket at some point.

Taters on the smoker are hard to beat. I started doing that when I purchased my pellet smoker and they are a hit. Quartered new potatoes tossed with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic and smoked paprika.

Do you spread them out on a sheet? How long you leave them in?

I put them in a disposable aluminum tin pan and spread them out so that they aren't all stacked on top of each other. I like to give them around 45 minutes at 225 to develop some smoke flavor and then crank them up to around 400 to finish them off. Pic below is some flank steak with the potatoes.

They are even better the next morning to make hash with. Did that awhile back with some leftover ribeye cap steak and it was seriously good
