    Battery Charging in Remote Location

First off my boat stays on the water on a lift all summer long (when not in use)(I know how you all think ). My old boat only had a 12v trolling motor so I would just take the TM battery out of the boat and charge it in the garage. My new boat will have a 24v TM so taking both batteries out to charge them won't be so easy.

The closest electric outlet is roughly 150ft away. I could run an extension cord across the yard and down the dock to the on board 3 bank charger, but I'm looking for an alternative. At some point I'd like to run electrical down close to the dock, but that won't happen any time soon.

I'm not sure there is a viable solar option. I have looked at the little solar/rechargeable battery powered generators as well as a small gas powered generator. I'd rather not do the gas generator on the dock though, and I'm not sure if the little battery powered generators are up to the task.

Any ideas, opinions or experience would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

Run the power. Fairly low current so the wire won’t be terribly expensive. Rent a trencher for less than $100 a day. Nothing else will be much cheaper but anything else will be a PITA.

Well, that makes your options limited at best ! Honda makes a pretty nice "Suitcase" generator that would work and it's pretty quiet too.

I have looked at those little Honda generators. That might be my best option in the short term until I can get the electric run. I can always use it for other things as well.

    Thanks

This. $300ish and a days labor for power to your dock. No brainer in my eyes. Helped a few buddies do the same. They always say it’s the best thing they’ve done.

    Cheaper than a generator.

Thanks all, looks like I'll be working on that.
