    Impressive ice chest

Fished last Saturday in high 90 temps

we put drinks in partion slots around ice chest in my 2001 Champion 206

i put 1.5. Bags of ice between the dividers and put the rest over the drinks

Enter section made like a solid mass of ice

lasted all day. Went out Sunday day around 11:00 and there was still a bunch of ice!

Ever had a boat ice chest keep ice all day!

    truly impressed

"partition slots"? Not familiar with that feature. Do you have photos?

I'd like to see that as well. I have to use 15-20# of ice to last all day on these 90°+ days. I used 10# this past Saturday and by 2PM, it was all but gone.

Neither of the coolers on my 2003 206 keep ice well but the one behind the drivers seat is better at it than the front step. My front step cooler is ribbed and looks like it was made to hold some kind of dividers.

The ice will last longer if you plug your drain. The partition slots being mentioned were put there in case you wanted to use it for tackle. My 2001 203 had these slots in the front step cooler.

Same here. I have the the dividers installed and use the cooler behind driver seat.

My buddy with a deep V came and fished with me in my 206 and said wow, you got a real cooler unlike his. His is just a second livewell tank we use. Guess I never thought this deep into a real cooler for a boat but after my buddy was so impressed with it I guess I like it more now. Haha

Something I do on hottest days is bottles of ice in bottom of cooler, then drinks and more ice. I keep bottles of water in freezer in garage so they are ready when needed.
