    70 hp Mercury

    Does anyone know what years Mercury made 70 hp outboards? I want to go look at a 1998 Fisher aluminum boat with a supposed 1998 Mercury 70 on it. I can't find any information on that motor and from the pictures of the outboard, the cowling looks more like an early 90's or late 80's and blockier than the cowl on my 1996 Mercury 200 efi on my Champion. Thanks.

    they quit two piece top cowl in 96 and changed to 75hp around then if it was a 98 it would have cowl similar to yo 200, need ser number
