2019 Pro XS 115 Wiring Question

    6. Analog Instruments with Merc VesselView Bluetooth

In the attached photo it shows 2 wire connections. 1 Yellow with White Stripe and the other is solid Orange Pink looking color. When I bought my boat and took it out for break in I had an alarm for low voktatge. I have the Vesselview Bluetooth link and was able to identify this via my phone. I looked under the cowl and found the Orange/Pink wire disconnected. I connected it and problem solved for about 10 minutes. Looked again and found that the bolt grounding that wire to the block along with other wires was loose. Tightened it and problem solved until lately. Have been having trouble with graphs and voltage when starting the engine. Decided to take the cowl off again and check, clean, tighten connections and found the Yellow with White stripe wires disconnected. Dumb question but are both of these wires supposed to be connected? It has me wondering now. My graph never had an issue before the last 2 trips out.

Yellow should be connected. Orange should NOT (you messed up the trim limit settings when you hooked it up).

Neither are likely the cause of your voltage problems- for that, start at the SOURCE (the BATTERY).

Confirm proper rating, confirm FULLY CHARGED, then have it load tested and confirm the CCA result.

Verify proper connections- engine cable FIRST, remaining lugs Largest to Smallest, finish off with a Stainless Locknut (NO WING NUTS).

Can I ask what each wire is for? Just curious.

Yellow is one of the digital signal wires.

Orange is the CALIBRATION wire for Trim Limit (when grounded, the module is in calibration mode).
