Thanks ...
I replaced the red flow-rite drain valve earlier this spring with a new valve for the exact reason (leaking valve in closed position). Well, sometimes it still leaks and sometimes it don't. I agree with wanting everything to work as advertised, but these valves aren't that great of quality. Someone on here showed me an electrical valve awhile back. I thought that was a great idea, but never went through with the conversion. It was easy to change on my 206 though.

Are you possibly just getting water coming in from the overflow? I can have my valves turned to the off position and still get water. I started just putting a small plug in the overflow valves. When I went in reverse it would push a lot of water in.
Also, when my valve is on empty, it will fill to the waterline. So I keep it on recirculate, and I have a dry livewell.
Mid you are going to use the livewell though, you have to keep a check. It will fill up and empty out the top of the lids.
the older champs had a one-way valve in the overflow hose, worked good (no water when backing hard)
they seemed to omit that on the newer models.
maybe someone still makes those.
You can get the check valve at any big box hardware store.
