    Vegetation, I can't see it

The lakes I fish do not have much that I can find. Occasionally I dredge some up with a lure, but I never see it on the graph.

The Helix 10 SI gn2 should be able to see it shouldn't it?

Could some post a picture of what I should be looking for?

This is a heavy thick weed like hydrilla using 455 kHz, it's all gone thanks to grass carp.

This is three views of the same grass bed point on another lake:

How do you adjust the Helix to pick up weeds?

I have not needed to do any adjusting to see weeds or the thermocline. The units are plenty sensitive using defaults.

What kind of weeds to you dredge up? Around here we have a short weed some people call perch grass, think the proper name is chara. It’s about a foot high at the most with very small leaves, is pretty uniform in height over the whole bed. The beds can run for hundreds of yards and look like a soft, flat bottom on sonar. Kind of like really short hydrilla. Often the best way to see them is with SI and know that what looks like a change from sand to mud is actually the edge of the weed bed. The stuff is real thick and bringing it back up on any lure that gets in it is easy. Maybe you have something similar in your lakes. If you could drop an underwater camera you would know for sure. On the other hand, maybe you just don’t have many weeds so your sonar is telling the truth.

Come fish Guntersville! You can mow the grass with your prop everywhere! Well.... maybe until the Asian Carp get here...

Maybe I should buy a camera to look, just to confirm.

I would love to fish Guntersville, just don't want to drive that far. Nice pic.

This is when I cut across a grass flat in 1 to 2 ft of water.
