Live 9 unit Overheating in Console

Anyone having trouble with Overheating in a flush mounted console set up ? Lowrance says unit will work up to 130. My unit overheats when it was sunny and 75. The boat is dark and with the enclosed console this will never work on a real summer day.

I put my console graph on a Precision Sonar mount and love it. Looks clean, easy to adjust graph, and solid as a rock.

I have seen a few post on the Lowrance board about their Live units showing an "Overheat" message on the screen but not sure if those units are flush mounted or not......

My HDS live 12 is flush mounted and I fished yesterday and the temp was 90 and I had no problems. Alot of times when I walk by my console it sounds like there is a fan on, so im guessing the units have a fan inside?
Not really sure but if they do maybe yours is not kicking on

drill a couple BIG HUGE holes in the console to get an air flow thru the console, the only way to cool things off. the depth finder is just acting like a heater. One of the problems of a totaly enclosed console. Maybe even install a small fan in each hole, one to draw air in, the other to push air out. :-)

Lowrance says unit will work to 130 degrees. Lowrance and Phoenix need to get this worked out imo

I would be curious to hear if anyone has a flush mounted bow unit overheating.
