    Propeller and WOT RPM

    Serial #C563915 2019 40 hp 4 stroke EFI Gear ratio 3x26 2:00 1
At WOT I am only generating between 4900 and 5100 RPMs. Engine specs advertise 5500 to 6000. Boat is a 15' Smoker Craft Stinger.
I have a Mercury Black Max 10 1/8 15 prop installed on motor. The RPMs are monitored using the Mercury Vessel View system.

Is this the best overall prop for my set up? I not looking to squeeze every RPM out of the motor just want to make sure I don't harm the engine.

    Operating on a hand-control?

RPM figures coming from Smartcraft or an Analog Gauge?

"C563915" is not a valid Engine Serial Number.

Need to start by making sure the engine is reaching WOT position, and that it has proper spark and fuel.

If it does, it's likely that the prop or setup are incorrect (I suspect prop).

Try a spitfire. I had a 17' SeaNymph I repowered with a 60 hp Merc 4s. Dealer put a 15 P Black max on it. After only a few hours I got a 13P Black max. Still was not any good. I tried a few ss props and they were ok but not the ticket. I then picked up a 13P aluminum spitfire and the boat came alive. I should have tried the SS version but the Alum. fit my needs. Good luck.

EuropeanAM you are correct about the serial number it should have read 1C563915. Ches I will research the 13P spitfire for replacing the 15P
