    Question South Carolina tackle stores

My family is going to Charleston south carolina on vacation. On our way we will be going through Columbia and possibly Greenville. Are there any tackle shops 8n any of those areas that are worth checking out?

    Sportsman’s Warehouse in Columbia.

Palmetto State Armory outside of Charleston in Summerville.

If you’re looking for more salt water type stuff Haddrells Point in Mt. Pleasant.

    Where are y’all staying?

There’s a Haddrells on Folly Road. Small place, largely saltwater gear.

Not sure how long you’ll be at Folly, but try to eat at Bowens Island. Think it’s open Tues-Sat. Dumpy place, paper plates, but very good fried seafood on the water with great views.

Lost Dog on Folly for breakfast. Taco Boy for lunch/dinner. Crosby’s seafood if you want to grab something to cook. There’s a Harris Teeter grocery store just before you get to Folly, but skip it, about 5 miles further up road there’s a Publix.

Martins BBQ just opened further up Folly Road, place is getting rave reviews.

If you do any surf fishing, not sure which end you’re on, but I always fish the north end towards the lighthouse (great place to take pictures, don’t miss it). Drive all the way to the end, you’ll be in a cul de sac. On the right side of the culdesac you’ll see a trail in the bushes, 30 yards you’re on the beach. Turn to the left, walk towards the lighthouse end, there’s a couple of big cuts you’ll see at low tide. Or from the culdesac there’s a largely paved road that runs straight to the lighthouse end, about a 1/4 mile walk.

Good fishing, use a spinning rod, and use fresh shrimp or fish bites, lots of whiting, pompano, reds, small sharks, and trout biting right now

Pallmetto State armory fishing outpost right off the side of the interstate in columbia. By far the best bass fishing store in the area.

Palmetto State Armory Fishing Outpost in Columbia, just off of I 26 down the street from Sportsman Warehouse. Really good, better than the one in Summervile, Summerville has more sw stuff.
