    Battery Cutoff Switches

I ordered one of the Blue Sea battery terminal post mount switches a while back. It got out on back order, and today BOE Marine told me that Blue Sea discontinued it after their warehouse fire a while back. I wanted it because it’s simple and no drilling. Anybody have any examples of a nice simple switch setup that would work for me? My Champion 186 gas tank takes up most of the bilge so there’s not a lot of room left to mount stuff.

Thanks Lucky, looks like a nice clean setup. Was it easy to install? Do you happen to know the dimensions of that switch? Space is limited.

This is what I have been running for a few years now.
Easy install. Small, very similar to what lucky13 posted.

The first switch that Lucky suggested and the one from Friogatto appear to be the same cut off switch, a BEP 701. You can see two of those in the pic of my battery compartment. The second one from Attwood that Lucky suggested likely would not be ignition protected, so I would stay away from it. It would be a fire hazard in the battery compartment if it is not designated as "ignition protected".

The one I have mounted is the attwood.
The small one is just one that popped up on amazon.
