I have a do-it walleye jig mold and was wondering if i can get a 4/0 hook to work in the 3/8th cavity. Thanks.

What size is called for in that cavity? You can generally, not always, go up or down one size.
It depends on the hook, I can put a 3/0 in but never tried a 4/0 nor do I have any to try for you. Based on how the 3/0 goes in I'd say that a 4/0 may work but might not be straight. Now, a hook like the Owner 5318 might work as the leg isn't as long so it should fit in the mold a little straighter. Another option would be to use a 3/0 in the VMC 7247 which is a long shank hook but you'd need to see it first. Go to Barlow's Tackle and email them and ask if the hook brand and size will fit the 3/8oz cavity, they will often try it for you and let you know.
If it doesn't fit you can open up the hook eye/slot area just a little with a dremel tool and a deburring bit.
