    97 Champion 181 Elite

I need some information on a 97 Champion 181 Elite, with a XR6 mercury 150 is this hull a good hull . I know that some of the smaller champs weren't the greatest. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The 181 is a great hull and rides big for an 18ft boat. You should see consistent 62-64mph out of it. Think of it as a little sports car!

Nothing wrong with the smaller Champs. Best ride of boats there size! Been riding in my Dads 1987 176 since he bought it brandnew. Always been amazed by how that boat rides and performs and my uncles 1985 168 with a 150. That little Champ outruns most bigger boats and eats up chop pretty well.

I bought my 181 new and have had it in some rough water many times over the years. In all those years I have only had one wave come over the bow and that was due to me being stupid and not paying attention on St Clair. My Mariner EFI will push it 65 all day long. It has been a great boat!
