I have a 1999 sprint 277pro boat with a 1999 Mercury 115 carved motor .. the motor has a 22p prop(not sure what brand) all I can get is 44-45mph and 5200 rpms is as high as it turns.. is this correct or will trying a new prop help?

I had a 266 with a 115 that would run 50 or so. The 277 is a bigger boat. I'm think 45 may be a good speed! How does it get out the hole? Sorry I can't help a lot more than this!
It gets out of the hole fairly quick
