    My new tin boat project

    Alumacraft Waterfowler 16 with a Yamaha F25

Edge 55 Trolling Motor with MK23 quick release bracket, Lowrance HDS 12 Carbon leftover from my bass boat days. I think I am going to like this one for a little panfishing and catfishing. I like the ability to turn down the idle a few hundred RPMS for trolling. The boat has 24-inch sides and a 20-inch transom which took some KY Lake rough water well on its maiden voyage. Got to be careful of the weight with the F25. Could use a 40 but working on a budget

    You will LOVE that motor!

I already do. A couple of days ago I caught a few bass trolling a Carolina rig in 20-feet of water using the outboard. The idle adjust feature would bring the boat speed down to about 1.3 -1.4 mph and it purred like a kitten. I have removed one of the big batteries and have every thing hooked up to one battery to try next time out. If I run the battery down and cant use the electric start, the EFI motor starts with one pull.

With the trolling features and the dropped front deck, this looks like the perfect old man boat for me.

I love a clean, simple layout. Many of us do not need all of the bells and whistles.

Waterfowlers are nice boats, I almost bought one before I bought my Xpress. I know what you mean about HP, I can't imagine anything less than what I got on mine ..... and even then I wished it was more. (my boat is heavy compared to most 16' duck boats)

I use mine mostly for fishing our rivers ....... and any place I don't feel comfortable with my glitter-boat. LOL
